Victrix Austrians - First Stand Spackled
The spackling has been completed. The palette knife makes this job so easy. I used to use Starbucks wooden coffee stirrers and that was a mess. The spackle would stick to the wood and then it would get everywhere except where I wanted it. The metal knife holds the spackle until it touches the base and then releases it.
The key to doing this is to start from the inside and work your way to the edges of the base. That way you don't mess your edges with your fingers. Also, doing the edges is so easy... you want to save the fun part for last. Dinner before dessert. This spackle is water clean-up and dries in 1-2 hours. That's good because when I get this close to finishing a base I get impatient. Next up is gluing the rocks and dirt!
