A Short Diversion - The Army Painter Dip

I didn't think that I would be doing this experiment... ever!


I have seen dipped armies before and they have not won me over. I can paint eyes, so why shouldn't I? As for the miniatures, why would I paint French troops in greatcoats? The coat covers up the stylish uniform!

But when I was looking at David Imrie's "Saxon Dog" blog and noticed his great looking armies, I realized that I had to try my hand with his hybrid technique: base coat-dip-highlight. His greatcoated infantry look really good and I hope that mine do as well. We'll see!
