ECW Pikemen Painted with Contrast Paint

Here is my finished unit of Warlord Pikemen painted up with Games Workshop Blue Contrast paints.

They were quick to paint up and look good en masse. The bases are the doubled washers with spackle to hide the edges. Some GW grit was glued on. Then Folk Art Asphaltum 5:1 Apple Barrel Antique White was painted on, then drybrushed with a 1:1 mixture of the previous colors. Finally, a quick drybrush of the AB Antique White finished the painting.

Highlighting GW Contrast Paints with regular paint tutorial Woodland Scenics flock

I used Woodland Scenics for the green turf and a tuft or two was added to each base.

Painting Individual Minis for the Camera... or for the Table?

The coats were highlighted with Vallejo Game Color 023 Electric Blue with a touch of VGC White. It looks dramatic when looking at an individual figure, but when the miniatures are on the table and in a group it works well.

Next up: a unit of green shotte!
