Armourfast Panzer III Ausf. J - Part 1

Shortly after constructing my Italeri model, I went back to my local hobby shop to see if I could find another kit from the Kursk battle to work on. I stumbled across an Armourfast Panzer III Ausf. J model that would work perfectly! Did I read that correctly on the box? Two (2) tanks for only $16?!? Sweet!

Once I popped open the box I could see that there two sprues; each tank is self-contained on its own sprue. There are not any variants included, unless you count the schurzen that is on there and a few spare wheels. When I read a few reviews of the kit, it mentioned that the Pz III Ausf. J rarely was seen with schurzen so I won't be putting that on either of the two models.

As you can see this kit does not have the same level of detail as the Italeri one... and I'm sure that it will take a lot less time to build. A commander could bulk up their army pretty quickly with these kits!

A gentleman at the hobby shop said that the paint job and weathering makes or breaks these kits. That sounds like a challenge! I'll do my best!

Please indulge me as I share one of my favorite blessings with you this Christmas Eve:

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

I hope that you have a merry Christmas that is filled with family, friends and good food... and maybe a wargaming present or two under the tree! Yeah!
